Frequently asked questions

Will this fit my dishwasher?

It fits any dishwasher with a standard 3/8" hot water supply line, which covers effectively every residential machine sold in the US. The unit threads onto the inlet, no cutting, no adapter kit. If your supply line is 1/2", a 1/2"-to-3/8" reducer from any hardware store completes the fit.

Does it filter my water?

No, and that is deliberate. This is a conditioner, not a filter. CitraCharge™ binds calcium and magnesium so they stay dissolved and cannot form scale. The minerals remain in the water, which is why it does not soften by removing anything. If you want sediment, chlorine or contaminant removal, that is a filtration product and we make those separately.

How often do I replace the cartridge?

About every 500 gallons, which is roughly three months of typical use. Harder water and heavier use shorten it; light use extends it. Autoship is set to three months by default and you can move it to six or twelve at any time.

Does it remove existing scale?

Yes. The system prevents new scale and breaks down existing build-up over time, inside the appliance and the pipes feeding it. Expect visible improvement over the first few weeks rather than overnight.
