Does CitraCharge™ remove minerals from my water?

No. CitraCharge™ keeps calcium and magnesium in your water and prevents them from forming scale. That is different from a salt-based softener, which removes those minerals and adds sodium.

Will my water feel different?

You won't get the slippery feel of salt-softened water. What you should notice over time is less scale on fixtures, glassware and appliances.

Does CitraCharge™ filter contaminants?

CitraCharge™ is designed for scale. For chlorine, chloramine, sediment or iron, NuvoH2O systems pair CitraCharge™ with dedicated filtration stages. Learn about filtration →

Does it work with well water?

CitraCharge™ addresses hardness scale in both city and well water. Well water can also contain iron, sediment or bacteria, which need their own treatment, so we recommend testing your water first.

How often do I replace the cartridge?

About every 6 months for most homes, depending on water use and hardness. Auto-Ship can send replacements on schedule.

Is there a pH range where it works best?

CitraCharge™ is designed for household water with a pH between 7.2 and 8.4.
